Setting your oven to the correct temperature is crucial for achieving that perfect bake. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) at least 15 minutes before you plan to bake the stuffed shells. This ensures that the shells cook evenly and the cheese melts beautifully. A well-preheated oven helps create a bubbly, golden cheese topping that enhances the overall presentation and flavor of the dish.

1 cup ricotta cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, beaten

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

      Cook the Pasta Shells:

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and let them cool slightly.

          Prepare the Filling:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

              Stuff the Shells:

Carefully place a heaping tablespoon of the spinach filling into each pasta shell. Make sure to fill them generously.

                  Assemble the Dish:

Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange the stuffed shells on top of the sauce in a single layer. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells and sprinkle with additional mozzarella cheese.

                      Bake:

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.

                          Serve:

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving. Enjoy your delicious creamy spinach stuffed shells!
