Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)

1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper (any color), diced

1 cup corn (fresh or frozen)

2 tablespoons chili powder (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

1 cup chicken or vegetable broth

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Avocado slices, for serving (optional)

Shredded cheese, for serving (optional)

Sour cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and bell pepper, sauté until soft (about 5 minutes).

Add minced garlic and ground turkey to the skillet, cooking until the turkey is browned and cooked through (around 7-10 minutes). Break up the turkey with a spoon as it cooks.

Transfer the turkey and vegetable mixture to your crockpot. Add in black beans, diced tomatoes (with juice), tomato sauce, corn, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), and chicken broth.

Stir the mixture well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.

Cover the crockpot and set it on low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours.

Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning as needed. If the chili is too thick, you can add a little more broth to reach your desired consistency.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro, slices of avocado, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream if desired.
