Ingredients

1 pound fresh asparagus, woody ends trimmed

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 garlic cloves, minced

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1/2 lemon

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a kick)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This will help achieve that perfect roasted flavor.

Prepare the Asparagus: Rinse the asparagus under cool water, and after trimming the woody ends, place them in a large mixing bowl.

Make the Garlic Lemon Mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Coat the Asparagus: Pour the garlic lemon mixture over the asparagus. Using your hands or tongs, toss the asparagus until well-coated.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the asparagus spears in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Make sure they are not overcrowded for even roasting.

Roast in the Oven: Roast the asparagus in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly crispy, turning them halfway through for even browning.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the asparagus from the oven and transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of freshness.
