Ingredients

14 oz (400g) firm tofu, pressed and cut into bite-sized cubes

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)

2 tablespoons honey (or agave syrup for a vegan option)

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon olive oil (or any neutral oil)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)

Chopped fresh cilantro and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Tofu: Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15-20 minutes. Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.

Marinate the Tofu: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, fresh lime juice, honey (or agave), minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, preferably in the refrigerator.

Coat the Tofu: After marination, sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu cubes. Gently toss to ensure the tofu is evenly coated. This will help create a crispy texture when cooked.

Cook the Tofu: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes in a single layer. Cook for approximately 5-7 minutes per side until golden and crispy. You may need to do this in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Add the Glaze: Reduce the heat to medium and pour the remaining marinade into the skillet with the crispy tofu. Allow it to bubble and thicken for about 2-3 minutes, turning the tofu gently to coat.

Finish with Sesame Oil: Drizzle the sesame oil over the tofu right before serving, giving it an extra layer of flavor.

Serve: Once the tofu is well coated in the lime glaze, remove from heat. Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro, and serve warm with lime wedges on the side.
