Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1/2 cup diced onion

1/2 cup diced bell pepper (any color)

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Meat Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef (or turkey). Sauté until fully browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Add diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add Flavor: Stir in garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in the BBQ sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Prepare Biscuit Dough: Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the individual biscuits. Flatten each biscuit slightly in the palm of your hand or on a clean surface.

Fill with Sloppy Joe Mixture: Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the BBQ sloppy joe mixture onto the center of each flattened biscuit. Top with a small amount of shredded cheddar cheese.

Seal the Poppers: Fold the biscuit dough over the filling, pinching the edges tightly to seal. Place each popper seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.

Bake until Golden: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuit poppers are golden brown and cooked through.

Garnish and Serve: Allow the poppers to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, sprinkle with fresh chives or parsley for added flavor and presentation.
