Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 small onion, diced

1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning

1/4 cup water

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup salsa (plus more for serving)

1/4 cup sour cream (for serving)

Fresh cilantro leaves (optional, for garnish)

Jalapeño slices (optional, for garnish)

Cooking spray or olive oil (for greasing the baking sheet)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly greasing a baking sheet with cooking spray or olive oil.

Cook the Beef: In a medium skillet over medium heat, add the diced onion. Sauté until translucent (about 3-4 minutes). Add the ground beef (or turkey) and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Season the Meat: Stir in the taco seasoning and water, mixing until well combined. Let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.

Roll Out the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pinch the seams to create a solid sheet. Cut the dough into squares (approximately 3-4 inches each).

Fill the Rolls: Place a generous tablespoon of the taco mixture in the center of each dough square. Fold the corners over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a little pouch.

Bake: Arrange the filled rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serving Suggestions: Once baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with salsa and sour cream on the side. Garnish with fresh cilantro and jalapeño slices if desired.
